Broccoli has been cultivated since the sixth century BCE and was brought to North America in the 19th century by Italian immigrants, making it’s way to our plates today (to the chagrin of kids everywhere…)
You know broccoli does great things for your body, but it can work wonders on your hair too! It has nourishing, calming, soothing, moisturizing properties, and imparts distinctive shine to the hair beyond that which is given by other plant oils. It has been referred to as a ‘natural’ silicone, meaning it can also be used as an alternative to synthetic silicone in shampoos and conditioners.
So load up on broccoli at dinner, and in your hair washing routine too!
The Broccoli Seed Carrier Oil is extracted using the cold press method. The fatty acid composition of this oil is unique and composed of approximately 50% Erucic Acid (22:1). Its excellent anti-oxidant profile makes Brocccoli Seed Oil an easy substitute for the activity of silicones where the film forming activity results in a natural shine, and cuticle smoothing of the hair while preventing oxidation. The Broccoli Seed Oil is light, non-greasy, and is easily absorbed into the skin.
